Our approach
A marketplace with a small, clear set of rules
HireHelpers is a marketplace that connects homeowners with independent local home-service pros. Posting a request is free for homeowners, up to six pros can respond to each request, and pros pay $5 per lead with no monthly fee.
What HireHelpers is
HireHelpers is a marketplace that introduces homeowners and independent home-service pros. A homeowner describes a project once. Pros who offer that service in that area see a summary and choose whether to unlock it.
We are not a contractor. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee any work, and pros are not our employees or agents. Any quote, contract or warranty is between the homeowner and the pro.
What homeowners get
It costs homeowners nothing. Up to six pros can unlock each request, so you hear from a few pros and can compare them without being flooded with calls.
Pros see a summary first. Your phone number, email address and any street address stay hidden until a pro unlocks your request, and you can close your request at any time.
How pros pay
Pros pay $5 per lead, and only when they choose to unlock a request. There is no monthly fee. Credits do not expire.
Because each request closes after six pros unlock it, a pro competes with at most five others for any lead. We do not make claims about how many leads become jobs.
What we check and what we do not
We review insurance certificates. A pro with the "Insurance verified" badge uploaded a general liability certificate that a person on our team reviewed and approved. A "Phone verified" mark means someone entered a code we sent to that phone number.
We do not check licenses, run background checks or review a pro's past work. Ask each pro for proof of license and insurance before work starts. The Verification page lists exactly what the badges mean.
When a lead has a problem
A pro can ask for a credit within 30 days of unlocking a lead. Requests that our records confirm, such as a duplicate or a job outside the pro's service area, are approved at once, up to 20 per pro in any 30 days. A person reviews the rest.
Reviews come only from homeowners, and the star rating counts reviews from homeowners who tell us they hired the pro through HireHelpers. We do not take payment to place, change or remove a review.
Your information
We share your contact details only with the pros who unlock your request, up to six, and only for that request. We do not sell personal information. Analytics is off until you allow it, and we run no advertising.

Questions
Is HireHelpers a contractor?
No. HireHelpers is a marketplace. Pros are independent businesses, and we do not perform, supervise or guarantee their work.
Why only six pros per request?
Each request closes to new pros after six unlock it. That lets homeowners compare a few real options without being flooded, and means each pro competes with a small number of others.
Does HireHelpers check licenses?
No. We review insurance certificates and show an "Insurance verified" badge when one is approved. We do not look up licenses or run background checks, so ask each pro for proof of license and insurance.
How does HireHelpers make money?
Pros pay $5 per lead they choose to unlock. Homeowners pay nothing.
