1. Our goal
We want everyone to be able to use HireHelpers, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive tools. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We do not claim that the site meets it in full. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit.
2. What we test
Our automated browser tests check these things on every legal page (Terms, Privacy, Pro Agreement, Credits and Refunds, Review Policy, Conduct, Verification, Copyright, this page, and the Legal page), on a phone-sized screen and a desktop-sized screen, and in light and dark themes:
- the page has one main heading and its headings do not skip levels;
- the page language is set;
- the "Skip to main content" link is the first stop when you press Tab, and it moves you to the main content;
- every link has a name that can be read aloud;
- on a phone-sized screen the page does not need sideways scrolling;
- body text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against its background, in both light and dark themes.
Automated tests cannot find every problem. We have not tested every page of the site with every combination of browser and assistive technology, and some parts may not yet meet the standard.
3. Telling us about a barrier
If something on HireHelpers is hard or impossible for you to use, email [email protected] or use the contact page. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive tool you use if you are willing to. We read every report and will try to help you finish the task another way, for example by email, while we work on a fix.
